Check this out.

We look great. This is sans Jim, we're taking the ones with him tomorrow, and should be, like, death star complete shortly. Fully operational. You'll see. We'll look awesome.

I wanted to post a blog also. Kate is watching "Shop Girl". Grif is biting Davey. I haven't practiced all week. I suck. The good news is I am buying Dan's imac.

Okay, so it seems Randy may not have posted, but I've already gone through all the trouble of typing this. Go see "snakes on a plane", I haven't, but I'm sure it's not very good in a spectacular way.

Love and kisses

Will

p.s. I possess the metal pedal.

We'll always be Task Force Shortbus, sir...mother nature decided that for us a long time ago

Quite an interesting past couple of days 'tis been.

First off, fueled entirely on Mountain Dew and reruns of Futurama, I managed to complete the new MD Online design in 45 minutes flat. I've always wanted to attempt in-line frames and now, with the current crop of browsers seemingly handling them better than they did in the past (said handling involved dying instantly on the spot), I gave it a shot. My good friend Hasidic Harry says, "eh...it could be worse."

Also, for the first time in my life, I have succumb to the temptation and joined an online RPG game. So if you have a copy of City of Heroes, your own (or someone else's, I'm not picky) account, and a hero on the Pinnacle server, send me a message sometime. I'll be playing as the Friggin' Taser, the most annoying natural/tech blaster who thinks he's a tanker you'll ever meet. Funny, as the new MD launched, so did the first major CoH feature update. While I can't comment too much on the update since most of its features are for level 40+ characters, I will say I've been having far too many all-nighters thanks to the Skyway City Task Force mission. Over the course of just two nights, I've completely filled my friends list to the hilt with new heroes and it has been a blast.

God, I'm such a nerd.

In comic book news, Cable/Deadpool just started getting good with issue #4. I'm the world's largest Deadpool fanboy and even I was ready to give it up after the hell that was issue #3 where entire months passed with each page without mention. #4 finally gives you everything you could ever want in a Deadpool story: guns, the return of the costume, and gay jokes. Good times.

More updates to come!

So the high school gig went off with a few minor hitches. We performed in the school's gym while about 30 people played basketball, so it was definitely a weird set-up. The stage was covered in an huge net so we didn't have an errant freethrows smack us dab in the face.

The minidisc back-up worked better than I could have imagined. I highly recommend it for any industrial artist looking for a back-up system live.

Moving down from 3 keyboards to 2 wasn't that big a deal, either. The Yamaha CS-1X is still my baby, though the Roland XP's lush strings make it a requirement for whenever I walk onstage. Even if fear of getting hit in the face with a basketball kept me from being 100% error free live, the back-up and the keyboards themselves kept it from being too noticable other than us. One small problem, though: I totally knocked the Yamaha out of tune by accident at the beginning of the set. I must have accidentally hit the button that makes every note an octave higher, because you could really notice it being off during From Eden or Gift.

Here's a setlist for people keeping track of that sort of thing:

Epilogue
Last Hope
Into my Life
It's Not Good
Killswitch
Gift
Mother
From Eden
Ether

This was the first time we performed Killswitch, From Eden, and Into My Life live, as well as our cover of Danzig's Mother. Killswitch especially was killer live, as the drum track instantly got the crowd going. Sadly, this'll probably the last time we play our Depeche Mode/It's No Good cover live, which I'll miss. I always love singing along to it with Ether even if I'm not on a mic.

While we set up more shows later this Spring, it's nice to know EC Goodwinn is interested in having us return to perform again in June. We'll keep you updated.

For once, Journal Space's default random subject line kind of fits.

Work continues on both the promoter and performer level for our show on March 27th. Right now, it's being labeled "Meat vs. Machine," as it's a huge punk vs. industrial band BBQ. Here are the bands that are 100% confirmed as of right now: The Industrial: Medicant Downline (of course) Infection Agenda Scrap.edx The Punk: Walking Disasters Bleeding Eye Dog Big Head Broke My Finger We bringing two new songs and one new cover song to the show for our set. The cover should definitely get the punk crowd going, and the industrial fans will definitely like what we did with it. Unless Collapse Into Reason signs onto the show, it looks like we're headling, so check us out!

Meat vs. Machine - March 27th, 2004 Doors open at 5-ish. Tickets are $2. SVEA Social Club, Berlin/Kensington, CT

We should also have some brand new -MD- t-shirts for sale at the even that feature our new M.O. While Ether continues work on Test Subject, I'm working in the MD sub-studio with my G4 and Reason on some rather high profile remixes to get our name out there. First up is the band db9d9 who I should be remixing sometime within the next month or two (as soon as I get the remix tracks, of course). Then I move on to Chemlab and Christ Analogue (CA has even offered to remix us, so look forward to that). So that's what's happening now!

Keep checking back as a new website design and more live shows are just around the corner.

There will never be a Code Red...AGAIN!

Medicant Downline is currently out on the town, burning the midnight oil, and all that as it practices and prepares for the Summer Show Schedule, which of course starts March 27th at the SVEA Social Club.  Here's the line-up right now:

Mega Volt Minority (who will also be debuting their new CD at the event!)
Medicant Downline
Infection Agenda
Walking Disasters
Big Head Broke My Finger
Mordecai
MORE BANDS COMING SOON!

If you need anymore info, email rpd@medicant-downline.com anytime.

In other news, work begins on some new AvsMD material this week as I lock myself up in my own studio with a copy of Reason and a dream in my eye.  The goal is to finish up two songs by the end of the week.  Eventually, AvsMD's debut CD, Amish Body Movement, will be released all indy-like to fund future Medicant Downline and Autoretto recordings.

Let us rise up against our celebrities and make fun of them!

Big news going on in the world of Medicant Downline lately:

March 27th we're doing our next big show at the SVEA Social Club ("Social Club?" "You can say that again!") located in Berlin, CT.  The show is being promoted with the help of Funk 'n' Punk Records and will feature a split-bill of industrial and punk/emo bands.  Already confirmed for the line-up are Mega Volt Minority (who are making this show their second half of their record release celebration!), Infection Agenda, and our good friends over at Mordecai.  We're waiting on word from Intricate Unit and Collapse into Reason who want to play the show but are currently making sure their new live line-ups will be ready by then.  At the current time, it looks like -MD- will be playing second to last if CiR joins the bill, which should be great.  If CiR can't, then we're pulling out our extended setlist and sending everyone home with the warm fuzzies in the cockles of their heart.

Also: we're almost done with the demoing for our debut LP.  I think we only need 3-4 more full songs with a few sutures thrown in for old time's sake.  Early plans are for us to head into the studio in April to start recording.  There's early talk of Medicant Downline signing to an indy label with a great distribution system, so we're making sure to make the most of it.

In other news, Autoretto was recently recruited by one Ryan Speck to contribute a song for the planned project, Land of Confusion: An Industrial Tribute To Phil Collins.  Of course, being the massive mediawhores we are in Autoretto, we immediately jumped on the chance to remake Sussudio, especially for our love of American Psycho.  Autoretto's track should be ready before the March show, but sadly the CD itself will probably be released sometime in early 2005.  We're looking into ways of hosting the song online in the meantime, though.

Any show featuring Bon Jovi cannot be considered "Rockin'"

Yes, it's the start of another year.  For those of you who read ye ol' "Biting Your Way Into Medicant Downline" Journal, I bet you came expecting New Year's Resolutions, a stable of blogs all over the internet.

Well, my friend, instead of wishing for a better new year, I went fishing, because you can't live off wishes, but you can live of fishes.  Yes, that's old school HBO Pee Wee Herman Show referencing there.

I do, however, have some predictions for the next year that I don't hope, but know will come true:

1.  Medicant Downline will find its way into the studio by late summer and leave exhausted but with Test Subject in their hands.

2.  Autoretto, partnered with old friend Cyanotic, will release a self-produced and self-recorded CD that will promptly be reviewed by dozens of people who swear Coldwave was dead.

3.  AvsMD will release a CD, too, if only to raise funds for #1 and #2.

4.  This summer will see host to Connecticut's first Synth-Aid featuring all the big name industrial rock bands we can book, hopefully including the first ever Autoretto show as well as a finalized and epic MD set.

5.  The success of Synth-Aid will lead to a summer tour of sorts between Autoretto and Medicant Downline.  If we come near you, don't miss "AvsMD Live 2004!"  Ironically, even though the tour would be named AvsMD, I doubt AvsMD will ever play live during it...hmmm, now that I'm thinking about it, maybe as an encore.  Yeah, that might rule.

6.  I will finally snap and pay those outrages prices CrissAngel.com charges for the Angeldust CD.

Is that a red rocket in your pocket?

All is pretty quiet on the Medicant Downline front, I'm afraid.  Ether is holed up in his basement laboratory mixing the beats with the guitar to make all the girls go "WHOOO!"  I wouldn't doubt there being at least one more song up on Amazon.com before the end of January.

On the other hand, though, things are certainly picking up for me.  In a startling appearance of throwing caution into the wind, I closed down my old stupid review site, C-CN Online, in order to start a new project.

That project:  Autoretto...again.

I swear to god this time we're not stopping until we have a full CD recorded.  I've already got Gordon from Dirt Conceited as my bass player.  He seems to be the perfect match for this project as he has developed quite a fetish for the synth bass pedal.  I'm auditioning a new guitarist next week that I'm pretty sure will work and we're be set.  The goal is to have a 30 minute set for this summer so Autoretto and Medicant Downline can have a full fledge "Get Tested Tour" throughout CT, MA, RI, and NY.  You can definitely count on hearing at least two AvsMD songs in an Autoretto set, along with random inane covers of songs you've probably never heard of or repressed memories of.  If we can't wow you with our boyish good looks, we'll wear you down with sheer willingness to make asses out of ourselves in the name of synthcore.
